Maa Vaishno Devi Temple

Dera Baba Banda

Situated on the banks of the Chenab River in the Reasi district, Jammu and Kashmir, the Dera Baba Banda is a 300-year-old revered Gurudwara. It was built in memory of Baba Banda Bahadur, who was the commanding soldier of Guru Gobind Singh’s army. This Sikh spiritual site in Kashmir houses Baba Banda's ashes and weapons, including an arrow and a sword gifted to him by his Guru.

Bhairo Baba Temple

Located about 2-3 km uphill from the main Vaishno Devi Bhawan, the Bhairo Baba Temple is one of the must-visit tourist places in Katra Jammu. This temple is dedicated to Bhairavnath, who was granted forgiveness by the Goddess Vaishno Devi. According to mythology, Bhairavnath chased the Goddess but was ultimately forgiven and blessed after his defeat.

Charan Paduka

Situated halfway up the Vaishno Devi trail, Charan Paduka, or ‘holy footprints’, is a revered spot among the other Katra tourist places. Here, you can witness the divine foot imprints of Maa Vaishno Devi on a rock slab. It is believed that while being pursued by Bhairavnath, the saint-turned-demon, Mata Vaishno Devi paused at Charan Paduka to rest during her journey towards her divine abode in the cave.

Ban Ganga

Originating from the Shivalik Himalayas, Ban Ganga is one of the most visited tourist places in Katra Jammu when moving towards Vaishno Devi. Flowing as a tributary of the Chenab River, Ban Ganga stands as a symbol of divine grace and purity amidst Katra’s spiritual landscape. Bagh-e-Bahu

Situated on the opposite bank of the Tawi River, Bagh-e-Bahu is a beautiful Mughal-style garden and one of the best places to visit in Katra. It is built around Bahu Fort, features fountains, lawns, stone sculptures, a lake, and a large fish-shaped underground aquarium with 24 main and 13 smaller caves housing freshwater and marine fish.
